Dica Ann "Dicy" SMITH married Jacob ENGLAND in Burke Co, NC on 11 Jan 1848. After Jacob died in a Richmond, VA hospital in May or Jun 1863, Dicy married James Calvin "Calvin" GILES in Morganton, Burke Co, NC where Calvin found himself at war's end. No one in our family knew what Isaac died from, only "disease, probably typhoid," but his muster card says that he died of scorbutus (scurvy). Lynchburg City Cemetery sent me the records that said Isaac was 6 ft. 4 in. tall, the date he was buried in the Lynchburg Cemetery, the undertaker's name (Diuguid), and the exact location of his grave.
