Confederate Soldier George Washington Irvin, Private Co. C 60th Tenn Inf.

Hit by a falling tree at the Battle of Vicksburg refused parole and sent to prison at Camp Chase Ohio Later to Rock Island Illinois where he took the Oath of Allegiance. Paternal grandfather of Mary Irvin who married my gr uncle, Charles C. Land .

I just joined footnotes...and within 2 hours have downloaded copies of original documents for 2 great great grandfathers who both served in the Civil War. One was a "sesech" and the other a damn yankee!
